Neither is a small lens.<\/p>\n<p>The Canon has a bit longer focus throw and a bit nice aperture ring. Minolta first, then Canon.<\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"twentytwenty\" class=\"twentytwenty-container\" style=\"display: none; max-width: 100%; width: 800px; height: 600px\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/phillipreeve.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Minolta_f2p8_thirds.jpg\"\/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/phillipreeve.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Canon_f2p8_thirds.jpg\"\/><\/div>\n<p>Both lenses perform on a very high level by now but the pattern continues, the Minolta has still a tad softer bokeh and the Canon is a bit sharper.<\/p>\n<p>At longer distances the sharpness difference gets smaller, the Minolta is quite a bit better at infinity than up close.<\/p>\n<h1>Landscape Shooting<\/h1>\n<p>By f\/8 both lenses show an excellent performance. Both are rather big and well made lenses.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I think the <strong>Canon offers an excellent price\/performance ratio<\/strong> (for a f\/1.2 lens) and I am surprised that it sells for\u00a0less so little.
