These are all manual focus lenses but except for the M-mount lenses they all feature electronic contacts to communicate with your camera. This is an overview of ~50 of their lenses with my opinion summarized in one sentence to give you an overview and starting point before delving into our in-depth reviews.<br \/>\n<em><strong>Last Hyper Wide Heliar E<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nThe <a href=\"https:\/\/phillipreeve.net\/blog\/review-laowa-9mm-5-6-ff-rl\/\">Laowa 9mm 5.6<\/a> does the same thing but much better, so get the Laowa<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/phillipreeve.net\/blog\/review-voigtlander-12mm-5-6-aspherical-ultra-wide-heliar\/\">Voigtl\u00e4nder 12mm 5.6 <\/a><\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/phillipreeve.net\/blog\/review-voigtlander-12mm-5-6-aspherical-ultra-wide-heliar\/\"><strong>Ultra Wide Heliar E<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nGot discontinued fast, performance wise it sits between the 10mm and the 15mm MK III<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/phillipreeve.net\/blog\/review-voigtlander-15mm-4-5-e-super-wide-heliar\/\"><strong>Voigtl\u00e4nder 15mm 4.5 Super Wide Heliar E<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nSome reports about sample variation, if you find a good one this is a nice compact 15mm lens<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/phillipreeve.net\/blog\/review_voigtlander_21mm_f14_e\/\"><strong>Voigtl\u00e4nder 21mm 1.4 Nokton E<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nVery sharp stopped down a bit, but too high vignetting, the <a href=\"https:\/\/phillipreeve.net\/blog\/review-sony-fe-20mm-1-8g\/\">Sony FE 20mm 1.8 G<\/a> is the more sensible choice for most<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/phillipreeve.net\/blog\/voigtlander-21mm-f35-review\/\"><strong>Voigtl\u00e4nder 21mm 3.5 Color-Skopar E<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nNice and compact 21mm lens, but for a little more money you can get one of the ultra wide angle zooms which might make more sense<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/phillipreeve.net\/blog\/review-voigtlander-nokton-35mm-f1-2-se\/\"><strong>Voigtl\u00e4nder 35mm 1.2 Nokton SE<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nAlready discontinued, if you want one, get one now<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/phillipreeve.net\/blog\/review-voigtlander-35mm-1-4-nokton-e-classic\/\"><strong>Voigtl\u00e4nder 35mm 1.4 Nokton Classic E<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nIf you want a vintage lens with busy bokeh and electronic contacts<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/phillipreeve.net\/blog\/voigtlander-35mm-2-0-e-review\/\">Voigtl\u00e4nder 35mm 2.0 Apo-Lanthar E<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nNot as Apo as the 50mm, still an extremely high resolving 35mm lens, much better than the <a href=\"https:\/\/phillipreeve.net\/blog\/review-zeiss-loxia-35mm-2-0\/\">Zeiss Loxia 35mm 2.0<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/phillipreeve.net\/blog\/voigtlander-40mm-f1-2-nokton-aspherical-rolling-review\/\"><strong>Voigtl\u00e4nder 40mm 1.2 Nokton E\/SE<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nThe fastest 40mm option and a well balanced lens, lightweight SE version already discontinued<\/li>\n<li><strong>Voigtl\u00e4nder 50mm 1.0 Nokton E<\/strong><br \/>\nIf you want an f\/1.0 lens this is the sharpest you can get, for its asking price I would rather get the <a href=\"https:\/\/phillipreeve.net\/blog\/review-sony-fe-50mm-1-2-gm\/\">Sony FE 50mm 1.2 GM<\/a> with AF and cleaner bokeh though<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/phillipreeve.net\/blog\/review-voigtlander-50mm-1-2-nokton-e\/\"><strong>Voigtl\u00e4nder 50mm 1.2 Nokton E\/SE<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nWell balanced comparably compact 50mm 1.2 lens with great bokeh, lightweight SE version already discontinued<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/phillipreeve.net\/blog\/review-voigtlander-50mm-f2-apo-lanthar\/\"><strong>Voigtl\u00e4nder 50mm 2.0 Apo-Lanthar E<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nPerfectly corrected 50mm lens with amazing performance from f\/2.0<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/phillipreeve.net\/blog\/voigtlander-65-f2-apo-macro-review\/\"><strong>Voigtl\u00e4nder 65 mm 2.0 Macro Apo-Lanthar E<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nSame as the 50mm 2.0, but with macro capabilites and much bulkier, focal length a bit in no man&#8217;s land<\/li>\n<li><strong>Voigtl\u00e4nder 75mm 1.5 Nokton E<\/strong><br \/>\nIf you want a manual focus portrait lens this is a great option, most will get better pictures with an 85mm 1.4\/1.8 AF lens though<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/phillipreeve.net\/blog\/voigtlander-110mm-f2-5-apo-review\/\"><strong>Voigtl\u00e4nder 110mm 2.5 Macro Apo-Lanthar E<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nOne of the best macros in the ~100mm range, be sure to be okay with straight aperture blades in a macro lens though<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>M-mount<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/phillipreeve.net\/blog\/review-voigtlander-10mm-5-6-e-hyper-wide-heliar\/\"><strong>Voigtl\u00e4nder 10mm 5.6 VM Hyper Wide Heliar<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nThe <a href=\"https:\/\/phillipreeve.net\/blog\/review-laowa-9mm-5-6-ff-rl\/\">Laowa 9mm 5.6<\/a> does the same thing but much better, so get the Laowa<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/phillipreeve.net\/blog\/review-voigtlander-vm-12mm-5-6-ultra-wide-heliar-mk-iii\/\"><strong>Voigtl\u00e4nder 12mm 5.6 VM Ultra Wide Heliar III<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nGot discontinued fast, performance wise it sits between the 10mm and the 15mm MK III<\/li>\n<li><a on Leica cameras M10 and earlier, otherwise very sharp yet compact lens<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/phillipreeve.net\/blog\/review-voigtlander-15mm-4-5-e-super-wide-heliar\/\"><strong>Voigtl\u00e4nder 15mm 4.5 VM Super Wide Heliar III<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nNow optimized for digital cameras, but also much bigger<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/phillipreeve.net\/blog\/review-voigtlander-vm-21mm-1-4-nokton\/\"><strong>Voigtl\u00e4nder 21mm 1.4 VM Nokton<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nVery sharp thanks to floating elements, probably the sharpest 21mm lens for M-mount, sadly too high vignetting<\/li>\n<li><strong>Voigtl\u00e4nder 21mm 1.8 VM Nokton<\/strong><br \/>\nI didn&#8217;t manage to find a well centered sample yet, don&#8217;t buy new, get the 21mm 1.4 instead<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/phillipreeve.net\/blog\/review-voigtlander-vm-21mm-3-5-color-skopar\/\"><strong>Voigtl\u00e4nder 21mm 3.5 VM Color-Skopar<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nIf you don&#8217;t need faster, this is a very nice and compact 21mm lens<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/phillipreeve.net\/blog\/review-voigtlander-vm-28mm-1-5-nokton\/\"><strong>Voigtl\u00e4nder 28mm 1.5 VM Nokton<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nVery good fast 28mm lens, much smaller than the competitors<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/phillipreeve.net\/blog\/review-voigtlander-28mm-1-9-ultron\/\"><strong>Voigtl\u00e4nder 28mm 1.9 Ultron<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nBetter get the latest 28mm 2.0 MK II (too much field curvature and bad minimum focus distance)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/phillipreeve.net\/blog\/review-voigtlander-ultron-28mm-2-0\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Voigtl\u00e4nder 28mm 2.0 VM Ultron MK I<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nBetter get the latest 28mm 2.0 MK II (still bad minimum focus distance)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/phillipreeve.net\/blog\/review-voigtlander-vm-28mm-2-0-ultron-type-i\/\"><strong>Voigtl\u00e4nder 28mm 2.0 VM Ultron MK II Type I<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nVery well balanced fast 28mm lens<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/phillipreeve.net\/blog\/review-voigtlander-vm-28mm-2-8-color-skopar\/\"><strong>Voigtl\u00e4nder 28mm 2.8 VM Color-Skopar<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nNot much cheaper than the 28mm 2.0 MK II, but noticeably smaller, great option if you don&#8217;t need faster than f\/2.8<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/phillipreeve.net\/blog\/review-voigtlander-vm-35mm-1-2-iii\/\"><strong>Voigtl\u00e4nder 35mm 1.2 VM Nokton III<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nThird time&#8217;s a charm, well balanced fast 35mm lens<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/phillipreeve.net\/blog\/review-voigtlander-vm-35mm-1-5-nokton\/\"><strong>Voigtl\u00e4nder 35mm 1.5 VM Nokton<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nSimilar performance as 35mm 1.2, but slightly slower and smaller, also a well balanced 35mm lens<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/phillipreeve.net\/blog\/voigtlander-ultron-11-7-35-mm-review\/\"><strong>Voigtl\u00e4nder 35mm 1.7 VM Ultron<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nNo idea why this has been discontinued, the sharpest 35mm M-mount lens faster than f\/2.0<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/phillipreeve.net\/blog\/review-voigtlander-vm-35mm-2-0-apo-lanthar\/\"><strong>Voigtl\u00e4nder 35mm 2.0 VM Apo-Lanthar<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nNot as Apo as the 50mm, still an extremely high resolving 35mm lens<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/phillipreeve.net\/blog\/voigtlander-40mm-f1-2-nokton-aspherical-rolling-review\/\"><strong>Voigtl\u00e4nder 40mm 1.2 VM Nokton<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nThe fastest 40mm option and a well balanced lens<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/phillipreeve.net\/blog\/vm_40mm_1-4_nokton_mc\/\"><strong>Voigtl\u00e4nder 40mm 1.4 VM Nokton MC<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nClassic rendering but very compact and affordable, pairs greatly with Minolta CLE<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/phillipreeve.net\/blog\/review-voigtlander-vm-40mm-2-8-heliar\/\"><strong>Voigtl\u00e4nder 40mm 2.8 VM Heliar<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nVery small and also available as M39 lens, the aforementioned 40mm 1.4 is probably a better deal for most people though<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/phillipreeve.net\/blog\/review-voigtlander-vm-50mm-1-0-nokton-the-actually-fastest-m-mount-lens\/\"><strong>Voigtl\u00e4nder 50mm 1.0 VM Nokton<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nCosina&#8217;s better answer to Leica&#8217;s fast M-mount lenses, if you want super fast, this is the one to get<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/phillipreeve.net\/blog\/review-voigtlander-50mm-1-1-nokton-better-than-its-reputation\/\"><strong>Voigtl\u00e4nder 50mm 1.1 Nokton<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nBetter than its reputation if you can live with the focus shift, affordable high contrast super fast 50mm option<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/phillipreeve.net\/blog\/review-voigtlander-vm-50mm-1-2-nokton\/\"><strong>Voigtl\u00e4nder 50mm 1.2 VM Nokton<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nWell balanced 50mm 1.2 lens with beautiful bokeh, more sensible choice than the two faster 50mm options<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/phillipreeve.net\/blog\/review-voigtlander-nokton-50mm-1-5\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener href=\"https:\/\/phillipreeve.net\/blog\/review-voigtlander-50mm-f2-apo-lanthar\/\">Voigtl\u00e4nder 50mm 2.0 VM Apo-Lanthar<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nPerfectly corrected 50mm lens with amazing
