After two nights at our first camp, we left that camp to go somewhere else. But before moving on to the new camp, we went to the main activity of the day that we had all been looking forward to, Polar dog sledding in the Nordic forests.

First we went to say hello to the dogs that were going to pull our sleigh, many of them participated in different dog racing events and all of them were kind and lovely and barked to get attention.

We went to a Nordic forest, it had snowed a little the previous night and the trees were a little silver white. The forests were truly amazing and unbelievably beautiful, like out of this world, it was like we had entered into the Narnia’s world.

After about 1 hour we reached a small hut in the middle of the forest. Our guide lit a fire inside the hut and made hot soup and warm sandwiches for lunch and tea, coffee and cakes.

After this unforgettable adventure, we left the dog sledding club and went to our new camp. The more time passed, the clearer the sky got. In the new camp, after putting our luggage in our cabins, we went out for a walk on the frozen lake next to the camp.

By sunset the sky was completely clear, meaning there was a chance to see the Aurora Borealis at night.

We  went out again at night, hoping to see Aurora Borealis, but that day it didn’t seem to been enough solar activity and only some green light could be seen near the horizon.

Gear

When I tell about the trips like this or any photography travel, a very common question is what gear do I bring with me on the journey. To answer this specific question upfront I list the gear I will take with me if I go today (what I had with me back in 2021 within parentheses).
