Silbersalz35 125T Edition Vivid 500Silbersalz35 is mainly famous for their repacked Kodak Vision3 Cine films, but every now and then they also sell this “Edition Vivid 500 125T Vintage Cinefilm”. Rumors are this is expired Fuji Eterna 500, downrated to ISO125, but there is no way for me to verify that. What I did however, I bought two rolls of this film and here you can find some pictures from the first one.
Processing (ECN-2) and scanning was done at Silbersalz35 in Germany.
As of mid 2023 Silbersalz sold this film for 30€ per roll. This is including development and 4k scanning, but this still makes it the most expensive film I shot so far, so what do you get?
Being a tungsten balanced film I was especially interested how it handles night scenes and neon lights. Being rated as only ISO125 (I exposed it as ISO100) meant using very fast lenses like the Voigtländer VM 35mm 1.2 III or 40mm 1.4 was pretty much mandatory though.
I must say, I like how the film handled these scenes and I also see why Silbersalz picked the adjective “vivid” for it. That being said I greatly preferred shooting such scenes with the 500T or Portra 800, as – even though I was using an f/1.2 lens here – I was often in the 1/15s shutter speed range.
I also used the film for some daylight shooting, but these pictures don’t really stand out to me in any way – unlike the twilight ones.
At 30€/roll this film is hard to recommend though, as I think the 200T and especially the 500T make a little more sense for a tungsten balanced film – for less money.
That being said this might be your last opportunity to ever use this film stock, and for that it was definitely worth it for me.
Need to decide now, what to do with my second roll…

Very nice night-time results indeed! I suppose having a Leica helps in this kind of situations at least, when shooting at such low speeds, without a mirror and with a relatively silent shutter.
As for the second roll… I wouldn’t make suggestions about what to shoot, but I imagine the coming holidays may provide some interest at night. In any case, I’ll be curious to see the results. It must feel weird, shooting film that won’t be there for much longer. it’s almost better not to like the results too much.
Lefkada Greece if I ‘m not wrong !
Other side of Greece, Kos 🙂
Most are from Bodrum, Turkey, actually.
Hi Bastian, I really like your analogue fotos!
There was also an Eterna Vivid 160 T. Could be that one.
Very much possible, yes.
